It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Maybe I am reverting back to my childhood and Mr Roger’s Neighborhood, but it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood. It is HOT but we do need that on the farm for our plants to grow healthy. Above is a picture of the corn maze and melon patch. Right now the corn is shorter than the bridge, but that won’t be the case in a couple of months. And the pumpkins are still green, but the plants are growing. The maze pattern has been cut into the corn field already and I can’t wait to be able to walk through the maze.

See the little green pumpkin here is growing and the plants are healthy. Just can’t wait for those large pumpkins to come in off the field. I like to place a couple of them on my doorstep for the fall. They are a great decoration, and make great pies. mmmmm

Look how large the cucumber plants are in this field. They look so lush in the morning sunlight.

These tomato plants are loaded with green tomatoes, but they are green. We are getting a few red tomatoes, some large and some tiny. But these plants sure looked great.

This corn is peaking out and growing tall. Corn is not quite ready, but I can’t wait. I just cooked some last night that I had in my freezer from last year. It tasted great still! I am very thankful for my Foodsaver (I am not a rep but I just love this little machine for preserving the harvest).

Because everything is growing so well, finally! We are getting visitors to the fields now. I found deer hoofprints in the sand near the corn and tomatoes. I have seen some at dusk around the hay fields but have not been able to take any pictures of them. Believe me, these deer are very happy to have found the farm.
