Wow summer has started with a vengeance. Hard to remember that 9 nine days ago we had rain and dark, cloudy skies (see the picture below). Today we have sunshine, heat, and produce is coming in off the fields now (see the second picture below).
The produce stand has opened up this week. Today we have lettuce, chard, green onions, braising mix, turnips, basil, oregano, mint, green and gold zucchini, and 8-ball squash. Rick brought in some California peaches. We have breads, jams and honey available, too.
I have been receiving phone calls asking about tomatoes and melons. These will not be ready for several more weeks. Please call us at (775) 867-3750 in two weeks and we will have a better idea of when they will be coming in off of the fields.
Please remember to visit us at the farmer’s markets during the week. Lattin Farms delivers produce to the following markets, and if you want to order extra vegetables please call the farm and we can bring your order to the market to save you time.
