Wow spring in Northern Nevada has been very interesting lately. Sunday brought us a dusting of snow, ice rain, wind, cold. Very cold on our poor crops. The wind last week did some damage to a couple of our hoop houses. Then the ice rain coming in through holes did not help at all. Oh the life of a farmer.
Today is supposed to be pretty nice. But Wednesday brings more wind and maybe rain later this week. This will really knock the produce back a little bit. We will keep you updated on the produce stand opening.
We do hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend in spite of the crazy weather. It was pretty quiet here on the farm this weekend. Taking advantage of quiet days before the stand opens and the picking job lasts six days a week.
We hope to hear from you all when you are in our area. And if you see our booth at a farmer’s market, please stop by and say “hi”. The new, updated schedule has not been posted yet but check out the NevadaGrown website for the 2011 season.
